Hey Nate and crew, just letting you know I do not suffer from information burnout from your Franklys.
I find your take on current events, very informative, and I am heartened that others see collapse coming and are advocating for an easy bend and not a horrific break.
On another note, I have burn out from American politics! The crazy makers, the pomp, the lies, and the theatrics are too much to stay on top of every day. Once a week, a slight dip into that water is more than enough to try and keep a handle on what’s really happening.
Very thought provoking chat with eye opening realities of our blinkered (blindered) dash to renewables, all chariot, no horses.
Regardless of the outcome of investigations into the cause of the blackout, this should be a wake up call to consider the complexities, fragilities of, AND over demand from, our energy systems.
Very informative interview with Pedro Prieto! I had read a paper on EROI and solar he wrote with Charles Hall a few years ago -- so lovely to "meet" him -- and am going to dig it out now for a re-read and find the book. I am an anthropologist and am writing a book for Routledge on energy crises, --and getting close to done, -- hoping to include an updated discussion of EROI, limits of fossil fuels and renewables in the chapter (on Europe) and conclusion. Your podcasts rock, esp. the once dealing directly with energy topics! --Best, Sandy

Lost power, no traffic lights, no internet? Wow must have been really hard. This sounds like a typical week here in the Philippines.

Thank you to you and your team and Sr Prieto for getting this fantastic episode out so quickly! 🙏
