I'm not sure if there is a problem of attention deficit as such.
I'm lucky to have a daily 2-3 hr "window" for checking news-feeds. Many of these have migrated to the podcast / video format and there just aren't enough hours in the day to keep up with all of them. When everything was text-based, it was possible to skim numerous feeds and ingest items that were of important interest. Now that folk have webcams and studio mics, they can upgrade from bloggers to media personalities and interviewers. This may enable them to massage their egos, but limits the volume of information and spectrum of commentary accessible by audiences in a finite timeframe.
