This last Friday, a production crew from the Dutch VPRO Tegenlicht came to my farm here in Western Wisconsin - and today (<2 days later!) they posted this 22 minute short which is the first part to a full length film titled Energieblindheid volgens (Energy Blind).
Thank you for sharing this video! I am co-founding a program for my congregation to support members suffering from anxiety, dread and grief over the existential planetary crises we face, with the pedagogical component based on Dr. Hagens' teachings and those of his colleagues. I may want to show this video at a meeting.
Admittedly I skipped through most of it just looking for shots of your lovely horses, dogs and the farm. 😀 but your last closing comments were really awesome.
I also am starting to look more and more like my Mum. Consider it a good thing!
Nate, You do important work, but blindness to what's happening is much more than energy demands. Among other dimensions are blindness to how nature makes surviving runaway growth rather practical, a shift from growing power to caring for the system empowered. That's a two phase thing absolutely essential for any kind of plan to moderate the collapse ahead. We NEED to talk. This video turned our a little blurry, but starts with a good general survey of all our blind spots and where they come from that would help encourage you and the rest of the gang to look at the whole problem more comprehensively. That's where the "what to do" comes clear.
Thank you! This is really good news for the spreading of The Great Simplification in The Netherlands! VPRO is an almost century old (since 1926) public broadcasting company. Tegenlicht is a show existing for 21 years. It makes interesting investigative journalism quality programs with views that are not mainstream. (Tegen mains against and licht means light). It is highly regarded (some times authority bias is a good thing ;-). You are now in a 10-part series of future scouts from Tegenlicht. I am definitely going to share this. And I loved to see you in your natural habitat with your horse, dogs and ducks. Thanks again for sharing! Peter from The Netherlands.

This was great. I hope more groups start spreading your message
