It's so good to hear from these young people. Here are some more young people giving a magnificent performance of music which expresses so powerfully the lament and the anger of those who love the Earth.
God bless you in your life and thank you for the important work that you do.
Thank you so much for this interview. Watching it was a bit surreal as I was very much like these children, involved in climate and peace and leadership work from a very early age, leading to a lot of international travel in my 20’s that connected me with an incredible global network of peers who continue to do amazing work. I believe that having my voice honored and valued from a young generation age laid a really strong foundation for me to trust my own wisdom which enables me to do the work I do now of cultivating collective wisdom and nurturing regenerative culture from that place.
I was able to watch/listen to this from three perspectives: from my own inner child, as a professional working for regenerative futures, and as a mother of a two year old who is being raised, like CC, very deeply nested within the living world.
From each of these perspectives, I am grateful, and I look forward to watching this film when I am able!
Beautiful. What brave souls. Thank you for this. Can’t wait to see the documentary, and to see how these exceptional humans developed and navigate this world. This interview made me think of the children’s encounters with CEO’s.
“[The] neoliberal philosophy that really became imbedded in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s really died around the global financial crisis, around 2010. Over the last decade or 15 years we’ve all been trying to find…what is the new social consensus. How important are corporates, private sector, public sector? What responsibilities do they have? So the idea of Milton Friedman, that the primary objective of a corporate is to generate returns to shareholders actually died around 2019 when U.S. Business Counsel already redefined objectives. But right now societies still don’t agree, what is right, what is wrong…corporates are trying to be careful. Corporates are nothing more than an outgrowth of [the] societies they’re in….Corporates have to reflect society…When [millennials and Gen Z] become a dominant voting block they will identify exactly the frontier - the borders - how far you can go, where should you go. And at that point in time the corporates could actually solidify. But right now they’re in a flux. They’re reflecting purely societal flux.” (Cross posting)
